That Awkward Moment When…you discover someone and you wish you hadn’t.

Camille Paglia is just unsavory. I’m reading quotes from “The M.I.T. Lecture: Crisis in the American Universities” Sex, Art, and American Culture, and everything she says just makes me want to puke. Rape is abut ethics, yes, but it does belong in women’s studies, and it is a feminist issue. Why can’t it be taught in both? And she supports her statement by saying, “Tarquin’s rape of Lucretia caused the fall of the tyrants and the beginning of the Roman Republic.” Uuummm…what??? And then these nuggets of wisdom, “Men have given women sustenance. Men have provided for women. Men have died to defend the country for women. We must look back and acknowledge what men have done for women.” Oh, and, of course, women have to stop “bitching.” That’s the cure, folks! Stop bitching! We bitches have to stop bitching!

I’m frightened to research her anymore; I don’t want to know her opinions on race.
