I was more invested in these two than the main couple. I can’t even remember Yoochun’s character’s name, but I remember wishing and hoping and Jedi-mind-willing that Yong Ha and Jae Shin would become a romantic couple. I didn’t want Jae Shin to be the second lead; I wanted him to reciprocate Yong Ha’s feelings. Narratively, for me, that would have been so much more satisfying.
Actually, I would have been happy with these two being the main romantic pairing, and then Yoon Shik/Yoon Hee’s narrative arch could have been all about getting an education even though she’s a lady and finding out about her father and getting these two to openly fight corruption with her. Basically I rewrote this story in my mind without Sun Joon.
